Cindy Rubino was born in Newark, NJ and attended Kean University, receiving a BFA in Graphic Design and a Post Bachelorette in Special Education from Caldwell University. Her body of work ranges from ceramics, mixed media, and photography. Her most recent works consist of decorative housewares to elaborate ceramic busts.
As a student at Kean University, Cindy's graphic design logo was chosen by the incoming president to represent the theme of his inauguration, The American Tapestry.
Cindy uses a variety of materials and processes in each project, but her methodology is consistent. The subject matter of each work determines the materials and the forms of the work. Each project often consists of multiple works, often in a range of different media, grouped around specific themes and meanings. While working on a project, new areas of interest will arise and lead to the next body of work.
In her spare time she serves on the Riker Hill Art Association board and teaches in her private studio at Riker Hill Art Park in Livingston, New Jersey.
